Freeview TV, large bathroom, hot water, toilet, well equipped kitchen, with fridge, microwave, outside in teras is grill. Greece border near. Foodstore half a mile. No hidden extras in price.

In Sarköy Villa all three (3) bedrooms are upstairs. 1.) The master bedroom has 2 separated beds (size 200cm x 90cm). If You are a couple, You can keep them together. 2.) The other bedroom has also 2 saparated beds, the same size. 3.) This bedroom has 2 separated beds. You must trow bed out from the other. Beds size are 200cm x 80cm. 4.) You can have 2 extra beds by opening the sofa in livingroom.

The district includes 60 km of coastline for tourism, fishing and prawn fishing. And it is possible to take a motorboat from here to Avşa or Marmara Island. With all this to offer Şarköy is naturally popular with holidaymakers from Istanbul.

Şarköy and Mürefte are small country towns providing the surrounding villages with amenities such as medical care and high schools. 90% of the land is cultivated, vineyards and olive groves near the coast, with sunflowers, wheat, barley and tobacco inland. The land behind the coast has the right micro-climate for vineyards and wine-making; Şarköy is known for its wine and holds a wine festival each autumn. Güler Sabancı has a winery here making a Cabernet Sauvignon called Gulor. And the olives are very good too.

The town has a little jetty and pretty narrow lanes. Şarköy attracts Istanbul's family holidays. There are bars and discos playing a variety of different musics, and places among the rocks for the young or young at heart to creep off and drink beer. The actor and dancer Yaşar Alptekin has a club here. And as this area thrives on wine-making and tourism people are pretty cool about life. The young generation tend to migrate to Istanbul for study and careers.

History

Şarköy is 68 kilometers via the coastal road and 93 kilometers via THE E-5 highway from Tekirdağ. In what is now modern Şarköy were the settlements of Tristatis and Agora indicated on the ancient Byzantine maps. In the time of Süleyman Pasha, the elder son of Orhan Bey, who conquered Thrace, the town was called Şehirköy. In the tongue of the Yuruk Turks who migrated here from Anatolia, this name was converted to Shar from shehir (city) and came to be called Sharkoy from then on. Settlements from 6000-3000 BC have been identified in Buruneren and the Fener Karadutlar districts of the village of Kizilcaterzi and in Sofukoy to the west of the town of Şarköy. In the village of Igdebaglari of Şarköy, bronze objects from 1,200 BC have been unearthed and show evidence of the metal-working culture of the time.

Great Mosque of Gazi Süleyman Pasha
Uçmakdere - (formerly 'Vidimo') 36km from Şarköy, on a winding road along the cliffs from Tekirdağ. Uçmakdere is a lovely seaside village on a rocky coast with pretty wine-growing countryside behind. A wine making centre since the Byzantine period, Greek-built wineries still active today. Ruins of a Byzantine monastery, once silk was made here too. Partridge shooting on the steep hillside behind the village, and also great views.
Uçmakdere village has a parasailing possibility between end of May and beginning of September
Gaziköy - 25km from Şarköy, 2700 years of history including; fossils, ruined Byzantine houses and churches, the castle named 'Ganos'
Hoşköy - (formerly 'Hora') 16km from Şarköy, another village with vineyards ('Melen' and others) and a long history
Eriklice - an old-established seaside fishing village with vineyards and olive groves
Mürefte - (formerly 'Mryofto') - 13km from Şarköy, an ancient tree-lined village on a lovely coastline, with views of Marmara Island across the sea. Wine-making and olive-growing. There are guest houses and restaurants for those looking for a weekend escape from Istanbul. Wine-making is a large-scale modern industry here now, well=known grape varieties such as semillon and gamay are grown alongside the traditional local varieties for use in wineries including Kutman.
Eriklice, Hosjkoy, Gazikoy and Ucmakdere, with their uncolored beauty, are substantially worth a visit

Friday market

The Friday Market is a huge, outdoor market in Sarköy. It is imperative to wear cool clothing and comfortable shoes. Drink plenty of water to avert dehydration whilst you are browsing. You will probably spend more time here than you expect. It is a kaleidoscope of colour, noise and excitement. Market sells fruit, vegetables, fabrics and some clothes - for men, women and children, from street-cred clubwear to fake designer goods and last year's must-haves. Some of its specialities are sports wear, linen, tablecloths and there's household goods, too. The market is held in and around Sarköy main shopping street. Market open 09:00-16:00 and the best time to visit is late afternoon.
The Friday Market is the cheapest place to shop in Sarköy. You can find everything here that you can get anywhere else, usually at lower prices.
